DOE 2016 Energy Efficient Medium Voltage Transformers

Technical specifications and DOE 2016 efficiency requirements for Schneider Electric medium-voltage distribution transformers, including liquid-filled, dry-type, and Power-Dry® II designs. Coverage includes single-phase and three-phase models, voltage classes from 1.2 kV to 15 kV, kVA ratings from 10 to 3000 kVA, BIL (Basic Impulse Level) ratings, efficiency performance levels, tap configurations, insulation systems, temperature-rise options, enclosure types, and available primary/secondary voltage combinations for commercial, industrial, and utility power distribution applications.

Medium Voltage Distribution Transformers

In 2010 Schneider Electric released energy efficient transformers based on the Department of Energy (DOE) 10 CFR Part 431 Energy Conservation program for Commercial Equipment. On April 18, 2013 the United States Department of Energy (DOE) issued its final ruling on transformer efficiency for liquid-filled and dry-type distribution transformers. The ruling impacts single phase (10 kVA to 833 kVA) and three phase (15 kVA to 2,500 kVA). Distribution transformers manufactured in, or imported into the U.S. and its territories on or after January 1, 2016 are required to comply with the new DOE standards. Schneider Electric medium voltage transformers provide the solution to help end users to comply with this DOE ruling. Aluminum windings are standard, with an option for Copper Windings
